50 more spots released, new race cap is 250 riders (updated Tues May 25th)

Posted on May 23, 2010

UPDATE: Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

The initial 200 spots available for Nimby Fifty have been sold out. Due to the continuing strong level of interest out there, we have released 50 more spots in the race, making the new official race cap 250 riders.  So if you've waited until the last minute to register or heard that the race is sold out, well... you're in luck :-)  There are 50 new spots available for online registration.  If the remaining 50 spots do not sell out prior to registration closing (at 4pm Thursday May 27th), the remaining spots will be available for day-of registration, please read full details here.

Race Cap increase FAQs

Can the course handle this many riders? Yes indeed!
We think it can easily accommodate 400 riders - we set 200 as our initial cap thinking we would be lucky to fill that given it was our first year. But thanks to all of you, and the keen level of interest in racing bikes in Pemby, we have been able to raise our 1st year cap to 250. Concerned about congestion? Read the FAQs here.

Are you guys raising the cap just to grab cash? Not at all.
The extra dollars raised will help increase the amount we are able to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society and the PVTA, after covering our expenses. Furthermore, we want to ensure that as many of the people who we've talked to that are still interested in racing and being part of our first year get that opportunity.

We, the organizers and founders of Nimby Fifty, have donated our time and resources to make this happen out of our love for the sport and the town of Pemberton.  To us, mountain bike racing and mountain biking in general is all about the community, and this weekend we're bringing together a good portion of the sea-to-sky riding community and many from just outside it for some good clean, fun, pain and partying all in the name of two wheels on dirt. It's going to be awesome!

A big thanks to all early registrants

To all those of you who have registered already, thank you for your support! We can't wait to host an amazing day of bike racing for you next weekend here in Pemberton.
